After 22 years together, Jürg Briner/Katharina Egli ended their impressive dance sport career at the Swiss Standard Championships in Baden. They bid a fitting farewell to the Senior III category and won their 17th Swiss championship title in the Trafo-Halle. For many years, they were also among the top couples at WDSF tournaments, crowning themselves with the CSIT World Champion «over 65» title in 2026.
After the award ceremony in the Trafo-Halle, the audience, shaken awake by the retirement announcement, was surprised by a photographic retrospective that gracefully retraced the impressive journey of the DUZ pairing on the big screen. Finally, Jürg & Katharina performed their personal farewell dance in front of their fans, which was honoured with a long round of applause. They then received a certificate from STSV board members Walter Vogt and Brigitte Stäldi before their friends «stormed» the field - pure emotion.
