Dancing as a popular sport

The Swiss Dance Association SDSC organises popular sport tournaments for children and adults in standard and Latin American dances and Discofox. Whether you are an amateur dancer looking to gain your first tournament experience or want to compete with other dance enthusiasts - you will find the right stage with us. From regional competitions to the Swiss championships, there are numerous opportunities to demonstrate your skills and collect points for the annual ranking list.

We focus on the joy of dancing and the fun of movement. Every dancer can develop freely.

Our tournaments are judged by experienced professionals, so that fair and competent judgements are guaranteed. Dancing should first and foremost inspire - and that's exactly what we live at the SDSC!

Star Series

The series of youth tournaments for under 18 year old kids and teens!

In this series, young people up to the age of 11 dance in the school class, from 12 to 18 in the junior class. There are two different levels. Beginners dance in the Hobby category and advanced dancers in the Rising Stars category.

Hobby couples dance 5 dances: English Waltz, Tango, Samba, Cha Cha Cha and Jive. The couples in the Rising Stars category dance English Waltz, Tango, Quickstep, Samba, Cha Cha Cha, Paso doble and Jive. In addition, a Discofox tournament is held as a separate tournament between the Hobby and Rising Stars classes and is open to all ages and levels.

SupaLeague

Open to all

At the SupaLeague tournaments, dance couples consisting of two people compete - regardless of gender. The prerequisite for participation is that at least one person in the couple is 16 years or older. Non-licensed hobby and amateur couples as well as couples in the D classes in the main and senior classes are eligible.

The competitions are divided into separate standard and Latin tournaments. After a sighting round in which all couples dance together, they are divided into two performance classes: the Hobby Class and the Rising Stars Class.

In the Hobby class the following dances will be judged:
Latin: Cha-Cha, Rumba, Jive
Standard: English Waltz, Tango, Quickstep

The Rising Stars Class also includes more demanding dances:
Latin: Samba, Cha-Cha, Rumba, Jive
Standard: English Waltz, Tango, Viennese Waltz, Quickstep
This structure enables both beginners and advanced dancers to compete in a fair and motivating competitive atmosphere.
