For the first time in many, many years, a Swiss couple managed to reach the final of the European 10-dance championships. Davide Corrodi/Maja Kucharczyk put in a great performance and achieved an excellent 4th place in Rome.
It was already clear after the Swiss Latin Championships a fortnight ago that Davide & Maja were back in form after their long break due to injury and training.
With even more energy, dynamism and emotion than in Wallisellen, they fought their way to the final in Rome. They achieved 3rd place in several dances, and even 2nd place in the Viennese Waltz and Slow Fox.
Exceptional fitness, a lot of passion and great diligence in training are the basis for this success. The two danced a total of 8 rounds at top level.
At an international championship, balance across all 10 dances is a prerequisite for reaching the second round. While Davide & Maja impressed with very strong performances in the Latin dances at their previous participations, they now also impressed at a top level in Standard. They were thus able to achieve one of their major goals for the season. Congratulations on this outstanding success!
It will be interesting to see the result at the World 10 Dance Championships in Sarajevo on 29 November.
