Switzerland wins the silver medal at the Senior I Standard World Championships in Plata d'Aro, Spain; this great success was achieved by Andrea Bencivenga/Anna Drukarova, who have been licenced with Tanzsportclub Zug (TSCZ) since June 2025.
The final was dominated by the Italians Stefano and Tatjana Manni, who were easily crowned world champions. However, the Swiss couple took the honours just as clearly - with five second places. For Drukarova, who became Swiss through marriage and lives in central Switzerland, it was her second major success this year, having won the European title in March with her former Romanian partner Galan Razvan Dorin.
The newly crowned runners-up had travelled to Spain for these world title fights with the reference of three tournament victories, achieved at World Open tournaments in Bremen and Vienna and a 3rd place at the GOC in Stuttgart. „Anna and Andrea are both excellently trained and have made enormous progress since their first day together six months ago,“ praises Jasmin Corrodi from the TSCZ, who is also involved as a WDSF adjudicator and regularly organises training sessions with the pair in Hausen am Albis. „However, their actual training centre is Andrea's dance school near the northern Italian city of Bergamo.“
Corrodi is now looking forward to the Swiss Standard Championships in Tenero/Ticino, when Bencivenga/Drukarova can present themselves as runners-up on 22 November.
