Tanz Sport Bern was founded as Turnier Tanz Klub Bern (TTKB) in 1953 as the first dance club in Switzerland and focuses primarily on Latin American (Samba, Cha-cha-cha, Rumba, Paso Doble and Jive) and standard dances (Slow Waltz, Tango, Viennese Waltz, Slowfox and Quickstep). In 2020, the club changed its name to Tanz Sport Bern (TSBE). The club organises dance tournaments such as cantonal championships, Swiss championships and international tournaments (e.g. Swiss Championship Standard 2021 and 10 Dances 2018 as well as World Championship Latin 1999).

Tanz Sport Bern today has around 130 active and passive members. Active members include licensed competition couples, so-called Active I couples, as well as hobby or social dancers, our Fan Dancers (Active II). With their annual membership fee, the passive members show their commitment to the association and its goal of promoting ballroom and ballroom dancing in Bern and creating suitable framework conditions for this purpose.
