Competent trainers support the dance couples according to our ideas

This headline - a trend-setting statement from the STSV's mission statement - characterises the "Promoting athletes" project, which was adopted by the club representatives at the STSV Delegates' Meeting on 13 April 2024 in Olten as part of the annual programme.

What is behind it?

The STSV concept for the promotion of young talent is the subject-specific derivation of the Swiss Olympic guidelines. It sets out the organisation, objectives and scope of measures to promote national competitive sport and young talent. The concept, an essential prerequisite for receiving financial support from Swiss Olympic, has become outdated and requires a complete overhaul and revitalisation.

In line with Swiss Olympic and the Federal Office of Sport (FOSPO), the development of our coaches as empowerers and multipliers is increasingly at the centre of our attention. The new "Curriculum STSV (Syllabus)" in conjunction with high-quality workshops will be a great support for coaches and athletes in realising the association's objectives. Coaches should receive appropriate financial compensation for their work on behalf of the association.

The project is now being launched and will run for several years. All of the association's stakeholders will be given the opportunity to participate in its further development: Dancers, coaches, adjudicators and club officials. With the Athletes' Commission, a newly created body, athletes will be more closely involved in the association's decision-making process with regard to sporting matters.
