Davide Corrodi/Maja Kucharczyk provided another explosion at their last international start of the year; at the WDSF Open in Zagreb, they achieved a place of honour in the ten dance for the second time within a few weeks and thus lifted themselves to the top of the WDSF ranking for the first time. Congratulations!
While they were ranked behind Japan's Onishi/Onishi in Rimini at the beginning of December, they pushed the Asians to third place in Zagreb. The victory in Croatia went to the Moldovan pairing Sardari/Wederkinck. "We are extremely proud of our achievements at the end of the year," David and Maja admit. "But now we are pretty flat after all the tournaments - the Christmas days come at the right moment." Corrodi/Kucharczyk had already proved their versatility at the World Ten Dance Championships in Bratislava when they qualified for the semi-finals.
In the WDSF ranking, where a total of 50 dance couples are ranked in the ten-dance category, they are now on top with 252 points, just ahead of the Japanese. In Standard, Corrodi/Kucharczyk are in 41st place at the turn of the year (756 couples ranked), in Latin they are in 58th place (957 couples). A strong overall result that deserves the highest recognition and underlines that Swiss couples can also make it to the top of the world with a lot of talent, diligence and commitment.
