STSV Strategy Weekend in Liestal

How should the strategic priorities of the STSV be adapted and supplemented in 2023? Where do which measures need to be taken? How can the many tasks be distributed on different shoulders, does the STSV board want to strengthen its personnel?

President Walter Vogt, Vice-President Brigitte Stäldi (sports organisation) as well as Oliver Baumann (national and junior squad), Gunar Haas (finances/judging) and Martin Zinser (communication) retired for a weekend on the Bienenberg above Liestal for the annual STSV strategy weekend. The analysis of current projects and operational developments showed that our dance sport federation needs to broaden its base. Not only the competitive and elite sport must be supported by the federation and its clubs with projects and measures, the popular sport must be given much more importance as soon as possible. Therefore, a new position for popular sport should be created at the board level at the upcoming delegates' meeting.

A central element is Jugend+Sport, where coaches for children's and junior dances are prepared. The person responsible for training, Nadia Wullschleger, showed the board the status of the work that is being specified and financed by the Federal Office of Sport. In 2023, a new manual will be created, which will be used for Y+S basic courses "Latin/Standard Dancing" from 2024. The Board also discussed a new junior development concept, which is very relevant for a better classification by Swiss Olympic. Both projects are to be reviewed and fed back by a selection of dance sport specialists - Y+S experts as well as dance teachers - in the coming months. The club presidents will already have the opportunity to learn more about this at the next video conference.
